What's on your table? (photo)

Mealtime is a significant part of our American culture. We literally plan our day around the time and place where meals will happen. Whether the corporate job requires you to have lunch meetings, the sales force recommends connecting with prospects over coffee or you simply have a lunch date planned with other moms who need to get out of the house. :)

The table was a significant object all throughout the Bible as well. Jesus had countless meals at different peoples' houses throughout His ministry. The atmosphere ranged from intimate meals with His disciples to even choosing to eat with sinners. Jesus ended his time on earth with the Last Supper and will introduce eternity to us with the Marriage Supper of the Lamb!

Tears come to my eyes as I think about how glorious that time of fellowship will be with our Savior! And I'm sure there are certain angles assigned to meal prep and dishes duties. (I haven't found that in the Bible, but I have a hunch)  :)

In my book, I talk about the different things that God has put on the table for us. The spread is MASSIVE. Jesus paid the highest price to make all of these things available to us, but it's up to us to pick up each thing and use it. Psalm 23:5 reminds us that "God has prepared a table before us in the presence of our enemies." If there's ever a place we need that table it's when we're facing our enemies! The goal is to focus on what's on the table and not on the enemy though...

I encourage you to find out exactly what's on that table and start feeding on everything there.                Let's not leave ANYTHING on the table!

Here's a song that comes to mind that's familiar to some of you...
