So many times we ask ourselves, "What is my calling in life?"
We know we were created for a specific purpose, yet in between all the craziness of being busy with everything we "have" to tend to, we seem to loose sight of our true purpose for living. Why are we alive? This is a question we MUST have a clear answer for, otherwise we will stumble through life trying to keep up with everything we have to maintain; and after that still have to deal with a feeling of emptiness.
We have to keep our focus on the big picture- God's call on our lives.
1 Thes. 5:24 says, "Faithful is he that called you, who also will do it." The NLT version clearly explains that, "God will make this happen, for He who called you is faithful." Now that sure takes the burden off of us! Whatever God is calling us to be or do, He is ready to carry every detail of that plan out. His power working through us is what makes all plans successful.
The only action on our part is diligently seeking God on what it is He has called us to do. Diligent is the key word here.
A simple way to find out God's call on our lives is to ask ourselves what we are good at or what we enjoy. Our Father will never ask us to do something we wouldn't enjoy doing. There are enough people in this world doing what they enjoy doing that we never have to worry about a duplicate happening.
Let's shift our thinking from "How am I going to do what God has called me to do" to " What can I do to get out of the way so God can work through me?"
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Prov. 19:21 ESV
Are you prepared this week to take a look at the things you are good at? The things you enjoy doing? These things may very well be God's "calling" on your life.
