It hardly seems possible that something so simple as a thought can eventually influence our destiny!
Do you ever find your thoughts wandering? One thought leading to the next then to the next, and before you know it you've created a whole scenario in your mind of what could happen if...? If these thoughts are guided, though, this can be a good thing as we use our minds creatively.
Here's the big picture:
Thoughts... Actions... Habits... Character... Destiny... Legacy
When we think about something enough, we will want to do it. When we do something over and over, it becomes a habit. Our habits then mold our character (who we really are). Our character, when repeated, creates our destiny (our future). When our destiny plays out, future generations are effected (children, grandchildren...).
So, if your future doesn't look so bright or you sense that you have become someone you don't particularly like to be around, I would strongly suggest taking a look at your thought life. Two of the best ways I have found to change my thought life are to read books and associate with people who will help me to become who I want to be. Not someone else, but a better me!
As 2 Cor. 10:5 states: It is our responsibility to "take EVERY thought captive".
Phil. 4:8 gives us a short list of some things we should continually think about... " Whatever is true, honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure, lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good report, anything excellent and praiseworthy."
So, what do you think??? :)
